Now this is the type of portal parking garage we can get behind. The fully automated unit, designed by a firm out of China called Shanghai Chaoye Energy & Technology Co., not only offers the benefit of portability, as well as protection for cars, but also happens to use eco-friendly solar power.
Though we're unsure if the units are for sale outside of China, for summers in Kansas City we imagine this would be perfect if it had air conditioning, and in available markets this just might be the case on future models. Shanghai Chaoye Energy & Technology Co. says it has many different ideas in mind, such as a unit that would clean cars automatically, which would be pretty neat.
The parking garage looks incredibly easy to use. In the video below a driver demonstrates how it works and the whole process is pretty straightforward. He simply backs in, locks the car and hits a remote-control device to close the garage.
