Subaru Electric Vehicle

The first electric vehicle for Subaru will be the 2023 Subaru Solterra. It will be the most tech advanced Subaru that's ever been made.

The Solterra

The Solterra will be made through the all-electric architecture that they are calling the e-Subaru Global Platform. This particular model is made by adding the Latin names for sun and earth together. It's an electric SUV that has all-wheel drive. In fact, it uses the special Subaru Symmetrical All-Wheel Drive. The Solterra, as the first electric vehicle for Subaru, won't skimp on features either.

It still has next-gen options, including 8.3 inches of ground clearance which will help the SUV perform better. Additionally, it will have a 12.3-inch touchscreen. It has modern safety options and the typical Subaru reliability, all in a fully electric SUV that has zero emissions.

Crossover

In particular, Subaru has said this will have a similar platform as the Toyota bZ4X. They will also have a similar powertrain and platform as the Toyota option. The two companies are working together to make the platform that will be used by various EV options.

The range for the Solterra is going to come out at around 220 miles or a bit more. The rumor is that it will use two electric motors and come out to around 215 horsepower. The user can decide how to use the power by going with one of four drive modes. These will include Eco mode, Normal, Power, and X-mode. This last one is supposed to help you get through terrain that's uneven by changing the power needed for each wheel.

The vehicle has a lot of offroad potential as well, with the large ground clearance in addition to the grip control feature that lets you use a sort of cruise control even when you are driving slowly.

The rumor is also that you should get a significant charge after connecting it in for under an hour.
