A turbocharged 2.4 L engine powers the 2021 Ascent and Ascent Limited, and this BOXER engine deliver up to 260 hp and 277 lb-ft of torque at 2,000 RPM. Operating on a continuously variable mechanism, the Lineartronic transmission system offers the Manual Mode with eight different speeds. This patented CVT system produces torque for the Symmetrical All-Wheel Drive, which varies the torque in the front and rear wheels. The base trim has a 2,000-pound towing capacity, and the Limited edition can tow up to 5,000 pounds.

Both 2021 Ascent models have the standard X-MODE for enhanced all-season traction. Additionally, these three-row Subaru SUVs are balanced by the Trailer Stability Assist, Vehicle Dynamics Control, and Active Torque Vectoring. A 19.3-gallon allows families to enjoy a maximum driving range of approximately 520 miles in the base trim.

Appearance

The 2021 Ascent and Ascent Limited roll into the market in rich exterior colors, including Crimson Red Pearl, Crystal White, and Brilliant Bronze. These spacious SUVs offer best-in-class visibility at night thanks to the LED Steering Responsive Headlights, which are fully synced with the steering wheel. The Limited model has LED fog lights that illuminate your projected path. Both Subaru SUVs have body-colored door handles, raised roof rails, a rear window wiper, and two-speed front windshield wipers. The base trim's 18-inch aluminum-alloy wheels have a silver finish. Covered in the Dark Gray finish, the Limited trim has 20-inch wheels. Additionally, this high-level model has folding side mirrors that match the exterior paint. The model's deluxe cabin includes Ivory leather accents on the dashboard and door inserts.

The 2021 Ascent and Ascent Limited have 19 standard cupholders to accommodate families that love to bring along many beverages for road trips. Both Subaru SUVs also come with air vents in all three rows. The Limited includes a climate control panel in the second row. This luxurious edition also has USB charging ports in every row for convenient charging of electronic devices. Both Ascent trims have infotainment systems from the STARLINK MULTIMEDIA PLUS series. Measuring 8 inches wide, the Limited's multimedia touch screen is 1.5 inches larger than the base trim's display. You can replace the Limited's six-speaker sound system with a 14-speaker audio system by Harman Kardon.
