Specs at a Glance

The Subaru Crosstrek remains one of the most adventurous compact SUVs on the market. Big updates make the 2021 model even more appealing. Not only does the 2021 Subaru Crosstrek offer additional standard safety features, but it also benefits from updated styling. Let’s take a look at how the base Crosstrek compares to the Crosstrek Limited.

The familiar 2.0-liter BOXER four-cylinder engine is featured on the base Crosstrek. It’s rated to push out 152 horsepower and 145 lb-ft of torque. You can choose between a standard six-speed manual transmission and an optional automatic CVT. Subaru’s traction-enhancing Symmetrical AWD system comes standard. Adventure seekers will also appreciate the SUV’s X-Mode system, which further optimizes traction on challenging trails.

Expect the Crosstrek Limited to offer more performance. For 2021, it receives a new 2.5-liter BOXER engine with direct injection. Subaru rates it to develop 182 horsepower and 176 lb-ft of torque. Drivers can look forward to experiencing stronger acceleration. Keep in mind that the Limited trim is not offered with a manual transmission.

Many drivers will love the Crosstrek’s recently updated front-end styling. A new grille and bumper help give the SUV a more rugged appearance. Even the base model receives attractive 17-inch alloy wheels. A few upgrades are found on the Crosstrek Limited, including LED Steering Responsive Headlights and exclusive 18-inch alloy wheels.

You’ll love the base Crosstrek’s great value. It comes loaded with a lot of popular equipment. Subaru’s Starlink Multimedia interface features a standard 6.5-inch touchscreen with Apple CarPlay/Android Auto smartphone integration. Automatic climate control helps ensure great comfort throughout the year. You’ll also appreciate Subaru’s EyeSight safety suite, which includes automatic emergency braking and lane-keep assist.

The Crosstrek Limited is more luxurious. A Cold Weather package, which includes heated front seats and a windshield wiper deicer, comes standard. Meanwhile, the Limited model’s leather-trimmed upholstery with orange accent stitching gives the cabin a premium character. Other niceties include a 6.3-inch driver information display, reverse automatic braking, and rear USB charging ports.
