
Subaru has announced that the 2016 WRX and WRX STI will receive its latest safety and infotainment technologies, including the newly updated STARLINK system, blind-spot monitoring, rear cross-traffic alert and more!
2016 Subaru WRX & WRX STI Changes & Highlights
- WRX trim levels include the standard, Premium and Limited; WRX STI trims include standard and Limited
- Rearview camera included on all trim levels
- EyeSight now optional on the WRX Limited with Sport Lineartronic transmission
- EyeSight adds Lane Keep Assist this year, in addition to already including Lane Departure Warning, Pre-Collision Braking and Adaptive Cruise Control
- Standard 2016 WRX and WRX STI models get the new STARLINK 6.2-inch multimedia system, which has been newly updated with SOS Emergency Assist, Automatic Collision Notification and Enhanced Roadside Assistance
- STARLINK also continues to include the following high-demand features: SiriusXM Satellite Radio, HD Radio, Radio Data Broadcast System, iHeart Radio, Bluetooth hands-free phone connectivity and audio streaming, iPod control capability, Subaru STARLINK connectivity with Aha and Pandora smartphone integration, a USB port, auxiliary input jack and single-disc CD player among other features
- WRX Premium with 6-speed manual transmission and WRX Limited can be upgraded with a STARLINK 7-inch Multimedia Navigation system that includes an LCD screen, iTunes tagging, SMS text messaging, dual USB ports and three years of free map updates on the navigation system
- WRX STI Limited comes standard with the 7-inch STARLINK Multimedia Navigation system
- WRX STI Limited trim now offers no cost to replace the signature large wing in back with a low-profile trunk spoiler
- WRX Premium and Limited get 18 x 8.5-inch alloy wheels with sporty 245/40 R18 summer tires
- Blind Spot Detection, Lane Change Assist and Rear Cross Traffic Alert now optional on select trims, adding to the safety features that STARLINK and EyeSight provide
