Subaru is reaffirming its commitment to the planet by collaborating with the Arbor Day Foundation. Their shared goal is to plant over one million trees around the globe, with more than 100,000 of those trees rooted in the United States.
What is the Arbor Day Foundation?
Established in the late 1960s, the Arbor Day Foundation has been a driving force in global environmental efforts. This nonprofit has planted more than 500 million trees worldwide with the help of over a million supporters. Operating in urban, suburban, and rural areas, the foundation partners with major corporations to create greener, more livable communities. Thanks to this support, initiatives like the Tree City USA program have helped thousands of cities across the U.S. benefit from increased tree coverage and improved landscapes.
Subaru’s Honorable Commitment to Sustainability
Subaru of America is well known for its blend of innovation, reliability, and environmental responsibility. Popular models such as the Crosstrek, Forester, and Ascent are designed for both adventure and everyday life, and appeal to eco-conscious drivers. In line with its values, Subaru launched the Love the Earth initiative to plant at least 100,000 trees throughout the country.
The program is locally driven by Subaru dealerships and affiliates, each of which will donate trees that are ideal for their region’s specific climate and conditions. The trees, typically about four feet tall, will be planted in public areas like parks, schools, playgrounds, and shopping centers.
Through this partnership with the Arbor Day Foundation, Subaru aims to tackle urgent environmental challenges, including deforestation and habitat degradation. These new trees will help improve air quality, manage stormwater, and beautify neighborhoods across the nation. Additionally, the two organizations will work together to restore forests affected by wildfires in the American Southwest.
