There are five trim levels for the 2020 Subaru Forester. All five of the trim levels offer all of the standard features of the vehicle. However, each trim level offers additional features that make them unique. All of the trim levels come with the same features, such as a CVT automatic transmission, all-wheel-drive, and a 2.5-liter four-cylinder engine.

With the base model Forester, the vehicle is well equipped with many features that provide an ideal driving experience. There is a seating capacity of five people along with features such as a rearview mirror, 17-inch steel wheels, all-season tires, and push-button start. It also includes the StarLink app suite along with Eyesight driver assistance. The base model also includes Apple CarPlay, Android Auto, and a touchscreen of 6.5 inches.

The Premium trim Forester provides a few distinct upgrades for the vehicle. There is a sunroof, alloy wheels, and a power-adjustable driver seat. It also contains descent control and raised roof rails as well. The Premium Forester also includes an all-weather package, heated seats, a de-icer windshield, and heated side mirrors. The Premium Forester contains a WiFi hotspot, a traction system, and six audio speakers.

With the Sport trim level, the Forester comes with 18-inch wheels along with LED foglights to help improve the driver's vision. There is also an orange interior, paddle shifters, and an X mode traction system. The Sport Forester also comes with additional upgrades, which include a touchscreen of 8 inches, blind-spot detection, and reverse automatic braking. There are some other features, such as a navigation system and rear cross-traffic alert.

The Forester's highest trim level is the Limited, which has adaptive headlights and enhanced blind-spot monitoring. It also has dual-zone automatic climate control, leather seats, and adaptive headlights.
