What's New For the 2021 Subaru Forester?

Power and performance are highlighted in the 2021 Subaru Forester, handling your adventures with ease. While the Forester offers great standard features such as the symmetrical all-wheel drive and Subaru's award-winning EyeSight Driver Assist Technology, you can expect some new features as well. For 2021, the Limited trim gains a seven-speed manual mode for the continuously variable transmission, the Premium trim adds keyless entry and ignition, and adaptive LED headlights are now a standard feature.

2021 Forester Trims and Features

The base Subaru Forester includes a seating arrangement of up to five occupants. A backup camera is standard on this Forester trim, along with an auto start/stop system. The base model pairs 17-inch steel wheels with all-season tires. The interior includes cloth upholstery, standard EyeSight safety technology, and Subaru's own Starlink app suite that features easy access to your favorite apps. The base infotainment system is a 6.5-inch screen that includes Android Auto and Apple CarPlay.

More features are tacked on to the Premium, starting with alloy wheels and roof rails. The Premium gets a power-adjustable driver's seat as well. More technology is offered with a 4G WiFi hotspot and a six-speaker sound system. The Sport gets larger 18-inch wheels, LED fog lights, and a choice of custom colors for a distinctive look. The Limited adds adaptive headlights and leather seats. On the Touring, heated seats in both rows and a heated steering wheel are standard features.

2021 Subaru Forester Horsepower

The 2021 Subaru Forester has the same engine on all trims. All trims offer a 2.5L four-cylinder engine with a maximum power output of 182 HP at 5,800 RPM and up to 176 LB-FT of peak torque at 4,400 RPM. An automatic transmission is standard for the Forester in 2021. The Forester family can tow up to 1,500 pounds, and all models get Subaru's symmetrical all-wheel drive as the standard drivetrain to better the driving experience on varying road conditions.

Subaru Forester Safety

Each Forester now comes with EyeSight Driver Assist Technology that acts as another set of eyes on the road. EyeSight monitors traffic to optimize cruise control and sends an alert if you're drifting from your lane. A pre-collision braking system brings the car to a stop, while lane centering helps the Forester stay on its intended path. Other notable safety features include blind-spot detection, rear cross-traffic alert, a Traction Control System, and a rear-vision camera.
