What's New For the 2021 Subaru Outback?

Fresh off a redesign for 2020, the 2021 Subaru Outback carries over mostly the same. The latest Outback continues to excel in its durability, innovative power, and impressive safety features. The 2021 Outback has some of the leading technology in its class, too, including an 11.6-inch infotainment system with a tablet-style interface. There are two engines available for the 2021 Outback to provide a choice of power. As you might expect from a Subaru, the 2021 Outback also comes loaded with top-ranked safety features, including Subaru's award-winning EyeSight technology package that has been shown to reduce the risk of injury in rear-end crashes.

What Are the Outback Trims & Features?

There are six trims for the Outback in 2021. The base Outback comes with a standout exterior featuring bold LED headlights. The amenities continue inside with keyless entry for convenience. Android Auto and Apple CarPlay connectivity are available through the seven-inch standard infotainment system, including Bluetooth. Cloth seats are standard. The Premium trim, which is second, gets more luxury with a leather steering wheel. The driver's seat is power-adjustable, and the front seats are heated.

This trim offers the 11.6-inch tablet infotainment interface. You can add a power liftgate and more safety features. The Limited brings leather seats to the table along with driver seat memory settings. A power liftgate is standard. The Touring comes next with climate-controlled seating, and it also gets a heated steering wheel. A sunroof is standard on the Touring and Onyx Edition XT that follows. The Onyx also gets its engine and extends heated seats to the back row. The Limited XT and Touring XT have the same features plus a standard turbo engine.

This engine increases power to 260 HP and torque to 277 LB-FT. All-wheel drive is standard.

Technologies to Keep You Safe

All trims of the 2021 Subaru Outback get a backup camera, frontal collision warning, automatic emergency braking, and lane-keep assist. Blind-spot monitoring and rear cross-traffic alert are also optional starting with the Premium.
