What's New for the 2022 Subaru WRX?
The 2022 Subaru WRX has several exciting changes to note for the latest model year. For the 2022 year, the sporty and athletic WRX has a more chiseled and refined appearance than before. 2022 WRX Trims & Features
The Subaru WRX comes in five trims. The first is the base trim. Next, we have the Premium trim, followed by the Limited, newly available GT, then STI, with more information yet to follow for the STI. The 2022 WRX drives its sharp handling even more with a retuned suspension. Because of the upgraded dampers and a stiffer chassis, performance in cornering, steering balance, and stability all feel better than ever. The new GT trim handles very smoothly because of the electronically adjustable dampers, allowing driver-controlled damping changes at the touch of a button.
2022 Subaru WRX Horsepower
For the 2022 model, the WRX features the latest version of Subaru's 2.4-liter direct-injection turbocharged BOXER engine. The BOXER engine produces an impressive 271 horsepower and features a twin-scroll turbocharger with an electronic wastegate. This allows the engine to produce a near-instant boost response and 258 pound-feet of torque. All-new automatic fingertip paddle shifting and an 8-speed manual mode will be seen for 2022. This can deliver 30% faster upshifts and 50% faster downshifts with more aggressive shift logic. The standard 6-speed manual transmission isn't going anywhere for those desiring total control over performance.
Subaru WRX Safety
For safety, all trims of the 2022 WRX have reverse automatic emergency braking, navigation, blind-spot monitoring, and rear cross-traffic alert.
