2021 Subaru Crosstrek

What's New For the 2021 Subaru Crosstrek?

The most prominent upgrade for the 2021 Subaru Crosstrek is an increase in power. Subaru claims that drivers should see an increase in horsepower by up to 20% over the previous models. Also new this year is the Crosstrek Sport trim package with unique styling for the interior and exterior. The Crosstrek has received a modest restyling for this year. The grille and front trim get the most significant overhaul. For 2021, all models will now be equipped with Subaru EyeSight Driver-Assist Technology.

2021 Crosstrek Trims & Features

The 2021 Crosstrek will be available in four different trim levels. These are the Base, Premium, Sport, and Limited. The Base and Premium offer 6-speed manual transmissions. Everything else comes equipped with a CVT or continuously variable transmission. The Base model, while bare-bones, will still come equipped with the driver-assist tech and most safety features.

The Premium models add an all-weather package with heated front seats. The steering wheel and gearshift knob get wrapped in leather. Fog lights are added on, and a moonroof is available for this trim. The top-tier Limited model gets the best of what Subaru has to offer. This includes leather-trimmed upholstery and an available Harman Kardon audio system.

The new Sport trim features an aggressive grille and sporty wheel-arch moldings. There are several gunmetal gray accents for a rugged look. This trim is the only way to get the new Subaru Plasma Yellow Pearl paint job as well. The inside also receives some cosmetic and practical flourishes. There is StarTex, water-resistant upholstery. This is the perfect addition for such an adventurous crossover SUV.

Subaru Crosstrek Horsepower

All trim levels of the Crosstrek come equipped with a 2.5-liter direct-injection Subaru Boxer engine. The Boxer engine is a unique, horizontally-opposed design that provides smooth operation and efficiency. This power plant produces up to 182 horsepower. Subaru promises a lot more torque too, which should help boost the acceleration over the 2020 models. Subaru has also promised a fuel-economy rating of up to 34 miles-per-gallon.

2021 Subaru Crosstrek Safety

While all of the details were still unavailable at the time of this article's writing, Subaru has stated this will be the safest Crosstrek ever. It all starts with EyeSight Driver-Assist Technology. This suite of features can reduce front impacts by up to 85%. It does this by applying full brake force in emergency scenarios. The latest Crosstreks will also feature adaptive cruise control and lane-keep assist.
